I sat down the other night to update our blog, and give you an insight into the first couple of weeks at home with our boy.
But then there was a little cry from the bedroom and a little request for cuddles, and how could I refuse. Time much better spent...

Family of Three
With only 10 weeks to go before boomba turns our world upside down and we go from a married couple of two to a family of three.Everything with baby is healthy and fine. It's playing head down, bums up and letting me know they are still kicking on with regular kicks in the ribs. I've been very thankful for great health and energy through the whole pregnancy, only finishing up playing sport this week and still taking a few basketball classes at school. Blood pressure and blood sugar have been perfect, with the only possible concern being the presence of some antibodies in my blood though doctors are happy with their levels so far.
We are constantly prayerful that this baby would love God, love us, love settling for both of us and love sleeping well, but are also very prayerful tat we would trust God with all the chaos we are thrown in as we become parents.
I marvel at God's creativity and sensitivity as he creates life inside me, and a new role for life in me. Another level of challenge as I learn to grow as a godly woman, wife and mummy.
Yes we know if it a boy or girl. Yes we already have names picked out. And yes we are doing a great job of keeping it all a secret! You'll just have to wait till June...

The Mighty Eagles
The Eagles soared to a second place victory in our indoor finals last night. 10 minute games of each sport - volleyball, netball, basketball, futsal.
Our oponants - the amazonian Red Backs. They were massive, and a tad too scarily competative.
First round volleyball saw us off to a shaky start. Communication is not our finest point, a few points being lost due to all six of us staring at the ball as it landed in the middle of the court. Result - 20-17 loss
Second round netball. Due to my 'sensative condition' every one else decided I would not play any more of the games, to my great frustration as we had no subs and an injury. I would have to be satisfied with pacing the side line shouting at all the things they were doing right and wrong. Despite one of our oponants being 8ft 10" (seriously!) and a state bball rep, we sealed the deal with a 2-1 win. Our defence was brilliant, and amazon woman kept gving us fouls at the hoop.
Third round basket ball was still evenly matched. Plenty of possesion by both teams at both ends of the court. Our problem - accuracy. No mater how many opportunities we got at the hoop we couldn't sink any winners! Result - 9-0 loss
Final round futsal. We had to win this to force a tie break game rematch of volleyball. And this was probably the most 'feral' game of the bunch. Part of me was a little glad I was not on the field. Charge downs, head ons, shoulder charges and a mass of frantic movement on our teams half. Half time saw us sitting at 1-1 after an enthousiastically celebrated goal by Nat. Second half we fell apart and the game ended in a 3-1 victory for the redbacks, handing them the premiership title.
On a high note, we still got a trophy! Hooray!! Even though Nat broke hers in 5 minutes during out 2nd place victory jumping photo shoot.
I have loved playing indoor sport with this bunch of ladies! We were blessed with the right balance of competativness and fun, were always able to have a good laugh with eachother. I'm going to miss playing next season, but knowing me (ever the optimist) I might make a few cameo appearances if they need a sub...

It's a....
BABY! It's official. Dan and I are having a baby. Now I know for sure that I am not just super bloated, there's a human growing inside my belly.

After lots of water being drunk, 4 loo stops, a break for lunch and 1 whole bottle of utlra sound gel we got all the pictures of baby Morton. 2 arms - check, 10 fingers - check, 2 legs - check, 10 toes - couldn't count but Dan wasn't too worried about that, 1 big brain - check, 1 cute morton button nose - check.

Everything was in it's place so it was nice to know that we have a healthy and apparently VERY active baby. Cos it was jiggling arond so much and sitting in an inconvenient position it ended up being a 2 hour scan, and lots of blury pictures.
So now we've seen a bit of the kid, we look forward to meeting them in 20 weeks!

Does it make me unAustralian?
What a great honour to be asked to sing the national anthem for our school presentation night last night, only to forget how it goes! Bummer...

Oh the cute things they say...
I told my little pre-schoolers yesterday about our own little one. I showed them a little jumpsuit that we got given by a friend and one little boy piped up and asked, "How are you going to put it on your baby if it's in your tummy?"
Priceless!
Priceless!
